Advanced Level -- Environmental Management - Revegetation (ArcView Version)
This project incorporates aerial imagery along with local environmental and reference data for the Monarto area in South Australia. Students will use many GIS techniques including heads up digitising, field calculations and geoprocessing procedures.

Environmental management has many spatial aspects, and such issues are readily addressed through GIS techniques. For a revegetation project to succeed, managers must ensure that they are planting the appropriate vegetation in the appropriate place. By analysing the environment in which remnant vegetation occurs, parameters can be drawn for site and vegetation selection.

Objectives include the measurement of vegetation change, creation of thematic maps, identify relationships between soils and vegetation, modify theme displays and create layouts. Site photos are incorporated for display, and students are encouraged to think about the practical applications of their work.

The project is divided into a series of 4 work units each of which introduce specific skills while building on the work done in the previous unit.
